I have this problem with my APS BOV, well I don't know if its a problem. If I shift at like 3000 RPM's with just 1-3 psi boost or even in vacuum, it blows off, but it makes 2 very quick "pssh" "pssh" sounds instead of just one, but if I shift at higher RPM's with full boost, then it blows off normally. What's going on here? I even put the stock BOV back on and it does the same thing.

Because it's designed to work at full boost. You can't mess around with part-throttle, partial boost - it causes compressor surge.

your aps might be a tad too loose as well, i dont have that problem with mine under any boost... your problem might be you are trying to recirc too much and its allowing it to open under partial throttle... the idea is that it VTA's and recircs, but you should only want it to VTA under full boost, tighten it and it should go away.

bigric09: how many threads do you have showing on the adjustment screw on your APS bov, with the way you have it adjusted?

i only have a drop in, stock intake box, so it only makes a clean "chu" under high boost, i can barely hear it. it doesn't make ANY noise under low boost.

just spoke to Jeff the owner of TurboTrix Racing. he told me that compressor surge doesn't hurt the car AT ALL and even the stock DV would surge sometimes. he has a Greddy type S bov on his car for 90 thousand miles and everything is fine. am i missing something here?
