Our evos have battery rundown protection?
A couple of days ago I went to move my car from street to my driveway at night and forgot to turn off the HID headlights and parked the car. The next morning all the lights were off and I noticed the headlights were on the on position. I thought I would need to jump the car but to my surprise it started right up as normal. Its good to know our cars have the kind of protection.

if you leave your lights on and turn the car off, they shut off as soon as you open the driver side door.... if you have a turbo timer, they will stay on for a few minutes then shut off on their own

i have a ix ... and they dont do that... only when the door opens.... you hear a solid tone for a couple seconds and they shut off, my viii i had did the same thing... my girlfriends lancer does the same thing.... maybe you have a special one or you did something with the wiring, or you think they are shutting off because there are no lights on in the car ... who knows, but all of the evo's i have driven... i think 6 to 7, have done it after the door opens

Regardless of whether it shuts off when u pull out the key or when u open the driver's side door, eventually you have to do both when getting out of the car anyways unless u like wasting gas...
