300awhp/312TQ on a mustang dyno, no cams & pump gas!

I just dyno'd my car on the weekend and was ecstatic with the numbers.
300 AWHP and 312 TQ on pump gas, 22 psi and the mods shown in my sig. I think thats almost 350hp on a dyno jet. Click on the link below to see the pic (no scanner)

http://www.mecah.com/faisal/dyno.jpg

In the dyno chart, run #1 was actually the last run.

#3) first base line run. boost was not measured.

#2) 2nd run. leaned it out a bit on the 3500, 4000 and 5500 rpm tables. afr on second run not measured (error) and boost unchanged from the first run

#1) last run. afr unchanged, increased the boost a bit, and let them run it to 7600 rpm.

And here is a screen shot of the data log lab log of the last run

http://www.mecah.com/faisal/dynolog.jpg

In all 3 runs, i start to knock at around 4000 to 7500 rpm, however it is nothing major. the ecu pulled no more than 2 degrees of timing, however, you can see the lose of power in the dyno graph.
As you can see, i still got some minor work to do. All this was with about $1300 in performance mods.

That is the correct number for a well tuned stage 1 evo 9.

My numbers were almost the same.

thats why i am on the look out for an evo 9 turbo...
plus i still have a ported stock intake manifold to hook up. however, i dont expect much power from it.

Looks like all those ported parts, and the Ebay intercooler netted you some good gains. Impressive.

It's good power, but before claiming that you think it's 350whp on a Dynojet, you need to verify that this MD reads like the Buschur dyno as opposed to the CFT dyno (or others that read just like a Dynojet). Just being an MD doesn't mean it reads low, and the likelihood of those mods plus your novice tuning making 350whp on pump gas is probably less than 0%. Just trying to keep things in perspective...many times people freak out about their dyno numbers without really knowing what those numbers mean.

Also, pay close attention to how your increase in boost on the 3rd run ONLY gave an increase in peak torque, and it was only up to 5000rpm. Beyond 5000rpm, the curves are identical, which indicates you are at the limit of the turbo's efficiency for those mods and octane. Typically, when you see no gain in HP from a raise in boost, you turn it back down to where you last saw gains. Kinda like tuning until you see knock, then pulling back the timing a bit to stay below the knock threshold.

I fully understand your skepticism, but I asked the guys at pure tuning the very same question. They said their dyno reads the same as buschur’s, where they have the 1100 series and buschur has the 900 series. They also said their dyno reads about 15% less than a dyno jet when they did some back to back tests with the same car on a dyno jet.

Also, when the boost was raised to 22psi, I knew that I have exceeded the turbo’s efficiency on pump. I got the same results you got when you raised your boost, and only gained torque.

And I said almost 350 on a dyno jet, not a mustang dyno.
