Yep, we tried the 0W50 on our Shop 9 and it got some nice hp gains vs the Royal Purple 5W30 (and much higher oil pressure as well).
We have just signed on to be a Warehouse Distributor for Eneos Oil and have the full line in stock = 0W20, CVT, 0W50, 5W30, etc; gear fluids should be here by the 2nd quarter of 2007.
Will be putting the 0W50 in my BMW 335i TT this week; will see what kind of hp i get from that one

Mike as you already know, my car is at Mynes right now getting an Aquamist install, and before you guys dyno it, if you want do a pull with my car with the Royal Purple in it, then a pull with the Eneos, see if its a consecutive power gain.
That would be cool .
P.S. I just noticed you said 335i... So you finally got it? Niiiiiiiice.

The concept would be less drivetrain loss through friction. Maybe, but I wonder how it would hold up to sustained higher temperatures, track days etc. With an oil that viscous I'd be worried about premature breakdown in the oil causing a loss of lubrication.

Well I believe thats what the oil was designed for? The everyday driver who likes to have immediate protection of his car with the 0w oil... But at the same time be able to go at the track and drive it hard all day, then drive home.

I highly doubt checker or autozone carries them. I dont think they even carry Royal Purple which is a decent oil.
Eneos can only be purchased by a few companies. www.mynesperformance.com being one of them.

I'm saying that I'd be worried about the oil breaking down during a trackday and causing something to seize.

Sooooo, what your saying, is that this oil is good enough to run in F1 cars unmodified (as per the video), yet its going to break down doing one track day in your evo. Looks like great oil to me, ill give it a shot some time.

Before we became an Eneos dealer, we bought the 0w50 from the local Nissan dealership and paid $10.50 a quart. We ran thru two track days (with an oil change after each event) and the oil performanced flawlessly. Prior to switching over, we were using the Royal Purple 5W30.
From our standpoint, we think part of the responsibility of a shop is to bring to the market products that are reliable and cost-effective (this doen't mean cheap products). We were one of the first shop in the country to push for the ATS/Carbonetic clutches; that was almost 18 months ago... now, people are finally getting the wind and many, many more shops are starting to carry them.
With Eneos, we have tested the product and have had great results... and based on our experience, we are now selling this product to the public. We've been sending cases of these oil throughout the US, and pretty soon, more and more owners will post their results to substantiate our findings.
Here in the Phoenix area, we are currently sponsoring two road-race drivers (240z and an Evo 8 MR)... the next race is this weekend... we'll see what they say about the Enoes 0W50.
cheers.

i actually am using this oil right now in my vehicle because we didn't have any of the top secret fusion oil in stock that i had been running. it's a good oil, definitely in the top 3 of what i've used, i would use it again.
