I have my evo washed there for 5 times, and it never happened. Now that I think about it, they usually turn off the car and let it pass the washing machine, and then they start the car, drive it out of the machine, and leave the key on top of the rear tire. This time, they probably forgot to put it on the tire and left it in the car so it locked.

And I hate that guy who said "It's a mitsubishi, you'll hate it next year." I think evo is the car I love the most compared with all other cars I have driven.

i feel your pain brother...locked my keys and didn't have the spare with me..."luckily" (at the time i thought it was lucky) there was a firehouse 1/2 a block away...came over - couldn't slim jim it - so, WIRE HANGER TIME!!! had to pry open the top corner of my driver's side door and just stripped that side of paint all to hell while scratching up my interior w/ the hanger!!! aaaargghh! and then afterwards the prying of my door left a slight gap in the upper corner which messed with the seal = whooshing sound every time i hit the eway! reading your post made me feel the torture again!!!

I think the car wash knows that most cars lock itself with cars turned on and key inside, that's why they always take it out and put it somewhere else before they hand wash. All my previous cars were like that and never had this happened. Well, this may probably be a part of my fault too, but their attitude man, was really not nice.

Are you a moron? no offense but why on earth would you take your car to a car wash? Dont you know that will ruin your paint? I cant beleive people havent yet learned by now.
The only real proper way to clean a vehicle is to either have a professional detailer do it or you can learn to do it yourself. I bet you have a ton of swirl marks dont you?
PLEASE DONT EVER GO TO ANOTHER CAR WASH AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can get away with spray washes but even those are inadequate.
