Totaled EVO guy ready to buy again

I just fianlized the payoff and insurance crap on my totaled EVO. (Probably the first totaled EVO in the US!!) I'm ready to buy again. What do you think I should be able to get a SECOND Evo from the same dealer for? I'm thinking If I can get one for $29000 (No roof, big wing), it's a good deal for me and still $1158 over invoice for the dealer. Big Two Mitsubishi in Mesa, AZ is where I got my first one. Does anybody have any info on what they are dealing for now? I haven't talked to them in two months, (they are 275 miles from my house)....By the way, my wife WILL NOT get behind the wheel on this one.

Whats great about the response so far to this post is that each is completely biased in one way. We have every non mitsu zealot preaching their side. Anyways get another EVO and this time actually enjoy it which you obviously never got a chance to do. Im getting mine soon and Mazda can keep their torqueless wonder and let the Scoobies swarm for thier their 16:1 steering ratio and absurd hood scoop.

STI reply

I thought about the STI. It just doesn't do it for me. The EVO is got everything I want in a car. 4 doors, (I have kids), good gas milage, (I got about 21 mpg on the ride home from Mesa), great handling and BIG *****!! (and $2000 more)

If this is your 2nd EVO you shouldn't pay anything over 29K....29,5 tops. Dealers are *easily* selling for MSRP now(in my area at least).

I would think you can get one for MSRP. Anything below that will probably depend on the local market, however. I'm in the Minneapolis area and the dealers here that are selling for MSRP & not loading them with a bunch of dealer options all have waiting lists for the cars. Those selling over MSRP or loading cars with 3 to 5k of dealer options generally have a car or two on hand.

The guy asked about help in buying a new EVO... he didn't ask what other car he should get... Personally, I think you should approach the dealer and tell them you want another one... don't even ention the fact that you totalled the first one. They may see you as a repeat customer and offer you a better price.
