flooded carpet

Just like the title says...roomates 5 day old 06 MR's passenger side rear carpet was soaked. Brought to dealer, tore the car apart (found 3 inches of water underneath carpet), and cannot find any loose gromet. They are going to try spraying water in undercarriage/wheel well of the car tomorrow. Question is, does this sound like the A/C clogging problem? Out of curiosity, is this an isolated problem or have many people w/ brand new 06 have had this happen?
