Please help me out with this....insurance question.
I know the answer to this. My friends is considering going from Jeep to Evo....
the opposite of the move I made. I'm trying to warn him about insurance.
What costs more to insure 2005 BMW Z4, or 2005 Mitsubishi Evo?
If you're gonna flame for some reason then just gtfo....I had the car i know the answer but my friend is the kind that will never admit he's wrong.

i would say the beemer because insurance sompanies take into account how many seats a car has and how many doors classifies it as a sports car or sedan. the insurance full coverage for my evo was around $50 a year more than a 00' civic Si.

My boss had a Honda del Sol, yes a very slow 2 door car that was classified as a sports car so the insurance wasn't that great.
In the end the sedan label of the Evo helps the insurance. I'm hardly paying more than 10 dollars a month over my old commuter, Mazda Protege.

I was paying 180 for liability for my old 240sx then i got the Evo and i only pay 185 for full coverage. Both with good student discounts. His insurance WILL be higher than the Jeep with an Evo, but it might not be by much. It might just suprise you like it did me. 5 dollars a month more for full liability.

yea... I didnt think about that. If you know his record go to his insurance companies website or hell even progressives site should give you an accurate quote of what his insurance would be.

I'd wager that 99.99% of the time, a the Evo will be considerably more expensive to insure than a BMW Z4.
Of course, we are all just making educated guesses here though. Why doesn't your friend call up his insurer and just ask them for quotes on each of the vehicles?

My Sentra SE-R was $419/6 months, my Evo is $469/6.
The SE-R also has a multi-car discount that the Evo does not (different policies), so my Evo is < $100/year more than my 4 door "sporty" econobox.
