I am on my way to South FL to pick up my new wrecked Evo. I would like to thank MarkN for a great deal. I am the one that usually gives good deals and has rotten luck, and it feels damn good to be on the other end this time. My wrecked VIII MR will live again. I will call it a FrankenEvo VIIII MRS. Thanks, again, Mark.

just hope their insurance covers it the total or otherwise
depends on the state if on what level of insurance u need if any at all
also if u have a loan they may require full coverage for the life of the loan regardless of state law

Are you sure you don't have collision insurance? I thought that was illegal.
There are two main parts to auto insurance:
1. Liability coverage -- Required by law in almost all states -- Covers other person(s) and property (pedestrians, bill boards, cars, whatever you hit at-fault). Will NOT pay a penny for your car or injuries, if a rock falls on your car or you hit a dead tree in the middle of no where. It will pay for the tree if someone owned it!
2. Personal coverage -- Never required by law -- Covers your car when it is your fault (if it is not your fault, the other persons liability pays for your stuff, get it!) or other party has no insurance. Made up of two types of coverage:
- Collision coverage - Pay for your vehicle in accident, generally, when its your fault
- Comprehensive coverage - Pay for your vehicle when stolen, flooded, burned, crushed by meteor, hail, etc. or when accident is not your fault (hit deer, bear, dog, bird, etc)
If he chose not to carry coverage for his own car, that is entirely his perogative. As long as he understood the risk, it amounts to a gamble that didn't work out. But no one should get on his case about it since the only impact is personal. He is not whining about the loss, so I see no reason to rip him a new one.

I HATE INSURANCE COMPANIES. you only drive beater cars w/o collision. im sorry, but no collision insurance on an evo is retarded. your only option is to go after the other drivers insurance. best of luck.

A really fat drinking buddy once told me "If it seems to good to be true.... then she probably has a d**k". well, I left from my house around 3:00pm from Little Caillou,Louisiana, about 20 minutes from the Gulf de Mexico south of N.O.,LA, and drove straight through arriving in Bocca Raton about 6:00am. The whole drive I was going nuts wondering if this is to good to be true. I called MarkN on his cell at 8:00am and my doubts left me at once. He told me that the car was at Mitsu waiting for us. No back ally, no salvage yard, no nothing. The Mgr handed him the keys, then he handed me the keys, and said to go try it out and put it on the trailer. This was the best purchase I have ever made. I then got back in the truck, and drove straight back home. I got home about 3:00am and the fun begain. For the next 7 hours, all I could do was stare at my new motor comparing it with the old motor with both hoods open. If it seems to good to be true, it probably is, unless your are dealing with someone like MarkN. I would like to thank him once again for the only cure for a bad case of IX envy I was having and yes, I tried more cow bell, it only helped out a little. Any advice about manuals and tools that I need for the conversion, will help out plenty.
As for all the talk about not having Comp on a 30k vehicle, take a trip to Boca and you will soon realize that some people only need liability insurance because some are a lot more than well off. The young man is now driving a brand new Audi and is the kind of son, if a person had the means, that is deserving of these kind of toys. Well, I am going back outside and do some staring.
edit: 'to' is spelled 'too', you dumbass.
