Looking for a substitute to a full racing harness? Check this out!
Just thought you guys may be interested in this new part that we came across. Its called the CG Lock. It is good for all kinds of driving.....autocross, drag, drift, road racing etc...
It basically turns your everday seat belt into a harness. It has about 80% of the holding power as a full harness. They are very simple and easy to use and they DO work.

I understand this whole "cheap and works!" this with a lot of things, but tell me if anything in the world looks more insane than an Evo IX with a sparco harness bar and 2 TAKATA 4 point seatbelts? i know its about 1200 for the full set, but.... its looks freakin sweet... thats the best interior mod you can get, and you have 341mph tested seatbelts that are in the freakin option top speed Z and a whole lot of other race cars (including the TAKATA NSX).

What are you saying? Best interior mod you can get? You don't get those things as interior mods - you get them as part of a FULL safety system for racing. A harness isn't supposed to be worn when daily driving (no helmet, of course), and then it should not be used with a helmet on the track without a cage, because if the roof is crushed in while your body is held erect, then you're in trouble. The CG lock is for those of us who need to be held in way more than the seatbelt does on its own but without going with a full cage.

I have this product and use it a lot for autox events and canyon drives. It works great in the EVO and really holds you down well. Easy to remove too so you don't have to use it all the time for daily driving.

Cool. Note also that, as required by federal law since 1997 or so, if you pull your stock seatbelt out to its full extension and then let it start to retract, it will go into full child-seat locking mode, and will thus only retract, not spool out, until you let it all the way back in again. (Which may be good for track use, although it may also get awful damn tight if you exhale all the way.)

What's wrong with sliding your seat all the way back locking the belt by pulling down on the shoulder strap and then sliding the seat forward? It works for me and that way the shoulder strap is snugged up also.
