if your gonna be doing weekend drag racing or autox get a clutch..if not you will be fine..i have stock clutch on ams 35R and have been like that since mar..no problems what so ever...daily driving it is fine...i would suggest you use the turbo kit DP,a test pipe, and and a very wellknown catback..like i mentioned earlier,RSR,HKS,JUN,AMS,etc...

From what I have heard a stock clutch is doable on a 35R pump gas that is. I know many people do it. Now a 35R on race gas is different story. But my setup is a work in progress. The car is running great and I am used to the lag. It was fun putting a Firebird to shame earlier tonight. Anyway... I am also debating on rerouting the dump tube back into the exhaust becuase when that WG opens it scares people to swirv into the next lane. This is my daily driver so it has to be semi civil if you know what I mean. I'd really like to get just the muffler since I already have a cat back with the universal N1 3" inlet muffler welded on it. At the time I purchased it the N1 catback was not avaliable for the evo yet. I'm looking for something with a nice sound and not fart boy racer sounding.

anyway 400 whp with 21 lbs boost or 400whp with 50lbs of boost...should still feel like 400whp. talk to who tuned you and tell them what is happening and see what they say

how much whp are u making
it should be much much faster than the stock turbo even at low boost.
at the same boost level of 21psi the 35r shuld eaisly have over 100whp more which should be very noticable.
my friend ran some small *** t3 turbo on his integra and made like 250whp at 12-14psi and then upgraded to a gt35r and makes over 400whp on 12-14 psi. and let me tell you it feels like a whole different car.

For the record the car is MUCH faster.... It has a totally different feel and the introduction of lag made the car feel lathargic. A really good way to get the feeling of the power is to put it in 4th gear at say 40MPH.... Then go WOT.... You can feel the boost building and it pushes you back in your seat like a jet air plane would. The car is a much more linear feel instead of the kick in the *** feel of the stock turbo. One thing I have noticed is if I am to get on it and look away from the Speedo the time it used to take me to get to 60mph it now gets to 100mph. In a way it is sneakey fast. Where I used to find myself crusing at 60mph I will look down and I am going 80mph.

if yo uwent from the stock turbo to the 35R, youve lost the twin scroll turbo, which changes the tone of the car....

You need Meth to take abvantage of the bigger turbo. Still on stock clutch? Not for long I predict.

21 Pounds of boost is about 350WHP on a stock turbo of a properly modded Evo

All the same mods with a properly tuned 35R should be about 400WHP-420WHP.

This issue of the slowness is the loss of torque and throttle response you get with the stock turbo.

Get the car on a dyno and get a tune. But for a stock bottom end evo, 50Trim is the proper turbo upgrade, more pump gas whp for sure plus faster spool.

I spank my boy with his 35R/50trim on the street. I love to catch that 50trim lagging around the streets here in FL. I make him hate his bigger turbo around town. On the freeway though, his 4th gear is nasty with that 50 trim singing! LOL!
We both running meth injection.

That's what I have (Magnaflow universal muffler) but with a straight pipe (i.e. no resonator). It's still loud but not the ricer sound. The WOT sound is awsome. With the gt35r, you have to drive more aggressive to go fast. Your stock clutch will gone in a nearby future so save up for it. Enjoy.
