Oil consumption
I have a 06 EVO, with 2,000 miles on it. (bought new 3.7 miles) I followed the break in. Did not go full boost till I had 800 miles on it. When I had 1,000 miles on it I was down 1 1/4 qts of oil. Now that I am at 2,000 miles. It needs another qt. Is this normal? I drive the car mostly on the highway 75-85 mph. I have not raced it, I don't take off like a grandma, I shift about 4,500 rpm, like the boost. I have to take it to the dealer for a trany problem. (2nd to 3rd grind) and didn't know if I should tell them about it or are they going to say I have been driving to hard.

I'd say mention it, they have no proof of how you've been driving it and no matter what they try to tell you, they can't prove how hard or not hard you've been driving it. So like you said, you havent been driving it hard. so tell them whats going on. better safe than sorry... some oil consumption is normal on a fresh engine, at least of you mention it right now there will be record of it being inspected incase an issue every does come of this in the future...

i dought it is a grind in 2nd and third i have had that same problem i just bought mine the trannys are known to be very notchy ur just breaking in the new syncros so i would try to ONLY use finger tip pressure to put it into gear for the first like 5k miles and then it will be better.

So, taking it to the dealer now is probably a waste of time. They should tell you to drive it some more to see what happens. And, I'm guessing, the outcome of doing that will be satisfactory.
In the mean time I recommend that you keep good records of any oil that you have to add to the crankcase. Either that will show you that oil consumption is improving or provide something to back your case when you do go to the dealer with this complaint.

My IX (took delivery with 2 miles on the clock) hasn't eaten more than a few drops of oil in 3500 miles. Changed for the first time at 500, and it was exactly where I left it when I changed it again at 3000. I'd get it looked at if you're eating entire quarts.

My evo has 9200 miles so far and it really haven't used any oil.
Maybe a drop or two.
I just did my 3rd oil change this past weekend.
BTW, my car was broken in using a slightly aggressive procedure.
