ITB for Evo's?

I'm asking out of pure curiousity, I was just checkin some ITB's for my s2000, and thought why no one has done this to the Evo's yet (and why there aren't any parts either). I know ITB's are used mainly for NA engines, and all the goodies that result in them, but why is it never seen on forced induction cars? Do you need to run high compression with ITB's?

If anyone with technical knowledge could explain i'd be grateful..

you can have individual throttle bodies at the runner of the intake manifolds and air can connect at the canister section of the intake manifold.

Yea... make the turbo behind the Intake manifold then it will work.

You have to have the intake manifold to get the forced air from the turbo back into the engine. Think about how that would work if you had ITB's. You'd have to have pipes running to each ITB. Now there are some manifolds that have little butterfly valves in each runner, but thats about the closest that you'll get to ITB's on a turbo'd car.

But in general, ITB's need high compression to work? I was just thinking that the e46 M3's come with ITB's and many people turbo them with ease... i wonder how they do that, seems simpler than our setups..

Plus, just saw this, but don't know if it would work properly..

yea ITB's are sick but i never actually seen it on turboed cars.....However, nothing sounds better then a 4rotor with ITB's.....i personally think its the best sound you can have in a car and it actually puts many cars to shame with how aggressive it sounds.

thats not ITB in the sense that he's talking about. Thats an intake manifold on top of individual butterflies. Integra GSRs have those.

Ive been trying to correct myself but this site sux because its so slow, lol. ITBs take advantage of an open air thats unrestricted. By putting this "manifold" on top, youre essentially losing the benefits. Thats why people buy larger intake manifolds for the Evo.

You're obviously not the first person to think about this. If it were the next greatest mod, it would have been done long ago
