Got car back very unhappy
ok i dont know if any of you guys saw the pictures but i had a brake failure which sent me off the road about a month ago and had to go through an extensive repair. (the car rolled). well anyways i just picked up the car and it feels like crap.
the heat knob is broken
there is an extreme vibration that is almost unbareable at high way speeds (might be from the new snow tires)
when i turn right more aggressivly there are loud clunking noises
there are constatly things rattling around
there is a pulsing sound whenever i am in gear
when i turned on the air glass shot out of the vents
there are scratches all over the interior that werent fixed
my brake rotors are all scratched up and have some major chips in them
whenever i put the blinker on the whole steering column rattles
and best of all after driving it 50 feet out of the repair lot the ABS light came on!
these are the things i have noticed so far but can i hold to the insurance and the repair shop to fix these things? isnt the insurance supposed to make the car as good as it was before the accedent? but regardless the moral of the story is DONT CRASH YOUR EVO! you will have problems for the rest of its life as i am sure i will have

wow man that sucks...with all that damage to begin with im surprised they didnt total the car. Who did the repairs? Mitsu or a local body shop? Sounds to me like they either ripped you off BIG time or they were just complete idiots...good luck

your evo rolled and it wasnt totalled? damn i would have fought like hell to get it totalled. sadly i doubt it will ever be 100%, but yea it should be up to them to make it right. fight for a new car. good luck

yah thats true but i was going the speed limit and the only reason that it rolled was it went into a ditch at like 2 mph so there was no real structual damage the repair costs were only $9000 but i feel like they didnt cover nearly everything

Yes....you should take it back and have them road test it.....let them hear for themselves all the rattles and sounds you heard......not every car can be fixed 100% perfectly after rolling it but they have to do better than not replacing your chipppped/scratched rotors and all the other sounds you heard.....Also, contact your insurance company/representative and tell them about your experience.....they should be aware of this shops lack of quality control with their shop guys....

I would have taken the car to another body shop for an estimate before electing to do the repairs. It's your right. Regardless of the speed at which you rolled the Evo, cars are not structurally designed to spend ANY length of time supporting their own weight with the roof on the vehicle. That car should have been totalled IMHO regardless of the BS Joe body shop owner fed you and your adjuster.
I've been in a similair situation. The estimator at the so called "preferred body shop" came in with an estimate that was, curiously, 79% of the total market value of the car. My insurer declares a vehicle an economic total loss if repairs reach 80%. I called the MF-er on it and paid $80 out of pocket to have the car towed to another shop. It the best money I ever spent. The second shop's preliminary estimate was well over 80%. I got a new car 2 weeks later. If I wasn't watching out for my own *** I would have been driving an '02 Spec V with, what is essentially, a $12k bandaid on it. Not to mention the diminished value had I ever tried to sell the car. The body shop might say it's as good as new, but even if you agree you'll discover when it comes time to try and sell her that the market does not. Sorry to give you the bad news but hopefully people will learn from situations like yours and mine...

Newb here but let me just say that i recently hit a deer (an 8 pt buck to be precise) and did 9 grand in damages. How do you roll an evo and only do 9 grand in damages? And no i don't have it back yet from the body shop but i will say that i went over the entire car before i took it to the shop. I made sure that i had pics of everything that was bent or broken so that i could go over it with the shop owner to make sure it all got fixed. do you have pics of the car on the wrecker or in the shop so that you can go back and show the shop; see it was broken when i brought it in and u didnt fix it?

I went through something similiar several years back and it was a total PITA. The bad news is, if the shop takes that little pride in their work to deliver your car in the condition it is in, the sad reality is no matter how much kicking and screaming you do at this point, chances are you will not be happy with the end result. But it is still to your advantage to get as much fixed as you can.
Depending on what a lawyer tells you, I would also start filing complainst with your local BBB and anyone else that might have some influence with them.
