Question about Mits front airdam

I have an IX and am thinking about getting the Mits accessory front airdam extension that lowers lift (it's the black plastic piece that extends from the MR front bumper from the factory as part of the zero lift kit). I have been told from a couple of vendors that the brake cooling air guides (also part of the zero lift kit) are recommended to be installed along side the airdam. Are there any experts here who know if these parts are independent of each other? I do not want to add the front airdam extension if it's detrimental to airflow to the brakes if the brake cooling guides are not present. Thanks!

Factory kits are usually developed as a system.

they can be bought seperately but they both came on my mr....i guess it would restrict a little air flow to the brakes so it might be a good idea to get both...if you do a lot of heavy braking then get both just to be safe

Really? I haven't had any such problems, and I have driven it all: canyons, city streets, highways, etc. Also, it gives the front end a more agressive look w/out being over the top. The brake cooling guides are approx $150. I installed a set and will need to wait for my next track day to see how they perform.

Take it off and you'll have small rocks, plastic, glass, and whatever particles it can catch. I managed to cut my hand when a piece of sharp glass fell and I didn't know it was there.
