Confused about drivetrain fluid change...
Hey guys,
In the owner's manual, it says that the rear differential takes Mitsubishi LSD Oil. I am assuming they mean Dia-Queen. However, I was under the impression that the Dia-Queen was only for the transfer-case but in the manual it says that the transfer case uses GL-5 rated SAE 90 hypoid gear oil. Does this mean I cannot put the Dia-Queen in the t-case? I got Mobil-1 75W-90 for the tranny so, according to the manual, I should be good there. I am just confused about the transfer case and the rear differential. Which one uses the Dia-Queen and which one uses gear oil or can I use Dia-Queen for both? Thanks for any help!

Diaqueen is used in the transaxle. It's a GL-3 75w80 or 75w85. Diaqueen Super is GL-4 75w85.
You probably don't want to use either in the LSD or transfer case. There are several threads here that will specify a 85w90 GL-5 for the above.

I don't use these oils because they aren't readily available in my part of the world...so take this with a grain of salt: Use Diaqueen in TC and rear diff.
As for the tranny, I am pretty sure that you should not use the Mobil1 in there. It seems that everyone on here is using either Pennzoil Synchromesh, BG Synchroshift(I or II), or Redline, Amsoil or Deep Purple. But anyway double check befre running the Mobil1 in your tranny. As far as I know Mobil1 75W-90 is a dedcated gear oil, and shouldn't be used in the Evo's tranny.

Diaqueen LSD Gear Oil goes in the rear diff as well as transfer case. Your tranny fluid of choice (of course matching the specs in the manual) obviously goes in the tranny.
