crashed the evo - need some insurance info

IIRC, the airbag sensors are c/t the front crossmember. judging by the damage and the fact that the front crossmember/bumper beam extends beyond the front of the crushed hood I would hazard to guess that the OP hit something soft (like a metal guard rail that does a lot of cosmetic damage but doesn't impart a lot of quick impulse force to trip the sensors and deploy the airbags.

spot on. i hit some black ice and hit a guard rail. both airbags did NOT deploy. no one whas hurt

So if the car gets totaled, they wont let you get your part off the car?

Can't you tow the car home put your stock parts back on as fast you can one two days before they come get the car?

I was able to remove a number of my parts and replace them stock when my car was totaled. Car still belongs to you and if the insurance company is not going to pay for them, no reason to leave them.
