Evo Profiling

Evo Profiling
Rant time...as I'm driving to get some breakfast this morning a cop pulls out behind me and starts to follow me. He was sitting on the side of the road before he pulled out and of course gave me that "I know you're up to no good" look that I'm sure cops give to most evo drivers. He then procedes to follow me up Avon mountain (heavily patroled section of rt.44 in CT ever since a major fatal accident this summer). I think nothing of it at first, stay in the right lane, drive the speed limit etc...then about 2 miles up he just turns on his lights and I pull over. At this point I think it's my tints but I was wrong...the guy (young scrawny gelled hair) comes up to me and starts going off about how my registration is expired (Nov.2006) and how he could tow me. I keep my cool and try and be as polite as possible. I told him that I was away when the registration bill came and therfore paid it a little late (the truth) and plan on putting it on as soon as it got here, probably next monday. He says okay, goes back to his patrol car and comes back with a $93 ticket...nothing I could do at this point so I just act polite and leave...I got really pissed when I pulled out and the first car I saw also had an expired registration Anyways I'll be going to court and don't really expect to pay but it just pissed me off that a cop would follow me until he found a reason to pull me over...just cause I drive an evo doesn't mean I break the law 24/7...rant over

thats rediculous dude. last week i was followed for about 30 miles down i-5 on my way to work. it was retarded. i pulled out of a gas station and he followed me out and then just tailed me for the next 30 miles. i was driving the speed limit and everything and there were a bunch of people driving way faster than i was but he seemed intent on following me around. finally he just hit a turn around spot and pulled off to the side and headed back the other direction but i swore he was trying to find something to pull me over for or wait for me to screw up somehow. it's so crappy that the boys in blue are starting to profile us now...grrrrrr

I love not having a wing. I always hear EVO people complaining about how everyone is always trying to race them and such. Being wingless I haven't had any such problems. A wingless EVO is a TRUE sleeper. I guess it depends on your tastes, but I love riding incognito.

well man i hate to tell you, but you had an expired registration. you cant say he "profiled", you cant say "he pulled me over for nothing." you had a violation and you got a ticket. simple as that, could have been a civic, buick, or whatever. sorry to hear though, 90 bones is steep.

Thanks in part by Fast and Furious police think anyone with a loud exhaust/big spoiler/rims is a racer. But yea, that's not cool. I've had cops tail me for a while too just waiting for me to screw up. I've been thinking of removing my ITR spoiler to lose attention, too. Looks naked though

+1. but take your updated registration with you when you pay the ticket. if you catch the judge on a good day maybe he will drop it....or reduce the fine

Last weekend I was followed for a few miles by a local yokel. In fact he was playing with my radar detector by blasting me with Ka then turning it off and then blasting me again. Then the dude goes around me slowly and briefly turns on his side mounted spot light. Then gets in front of me slows down below the speed limit and I'm stuck behind him for several miles. Eventually he turns off the road and I'm free. Hate being hassled by the man. I love the wing but maybe its time to go wingless.

I hear you man. I remember I was at cruise nights in Crystal Lake one time and as I crossed the stoplight going into a neighborhood, the cop that was going in the opposite direction just pulled a U-turn and started following me. He followed me for a good 10 miles and then just turned off on some street. Sorry to hear about your loss though!
