Strange.
In Illinois a 17 YO kid can't ride a motorcycle over 150 CC but he can take his Evo in and get it jacked to 800WHP? It's like giving a baby a loaded gun IMHO. Before the flames start I say this in general terms not all 17 YO kids are irresponsible.

Im sure we can get this worked our Junior.
Just so the readers of this thread know we have been talking to Junior every step of the way. Its difficult with the distance between us but we have people on the east coast that we can refer him to if its necessary. In any event we will make sure this car gets taken care of and that Junior gets back on the road asap. The 800 miles between junior and AMS will not stop us from fixing whatever issue he is experiencing.

The soultion is to shift down
When you have a large turbo you dont drive it like a truck - you have to keep the revs up a bit higher and the turbine and compressor in the proper range of efficency
The real trouble with a large inducer increase but no exducer increase, though, is it makes the turbo much more likely to surge. Surge is the situation when the compressor "spits out" more air than the engine can swallow, which causes a backup of air at the intake and it actually creates reverse-flowing pressure waves that can be very damaging to the turbo. You want to avoid surge at all costs.
You can help negate many of the effects of surge with a ported compressor cover - (which you should have already) and also by making the BOV spring looser
On the IX I would expect that MIVEC tuning could also assist the situation on a IX
The main point is that compressor surge is part of having a large turbo so get used to it and shift down !
