My advice (since you DID ask) is to suck it up and pay the fine or do whatever the judge orders....you gotta pay to play!!

Yep, plead for forgiveness - and take responsibility.
NJ law allows the back three to be tinted without restriction (at last check), but nothing is allowed on any other windows.
Someone said previously that it's just not worth the hassle. Bump that. We have enough heat on our backs without having to try.

Man I was about to tint all my windows too. I'm tempted to tint all windows because I see so many evos in Jersey with tints all round. Gonna have to just do the back three. BTW, how much was the fine?

i got pulled over for front tint 3 times in 5 years. first time was a fix-it ticket (five days to remove the tint and show them the car). second time was $90 ticket. third time (last month) was $106 and the cop told me that the next time i get pulled over for tint, it will cost me $600. so i decided to remove the tint.
cops can pulled you over for any illegal modification to the car. you're probably thinking about the seat belt law. they can fine you for not wearing seatbelt but they can't pull you over just for not wearing seat belt.

In California it's illegal to have any tint on the two front windows or the front windshield. I got a ticket for my tint while getting a speeding ticket about three weeks ago. I have 50% on the fronts, which I knew to be against the law. I've been driving around with it for 18 months so it was about time I got popped. Anyway I need to, at some point, take my car to a CHP office and have an officer sign off on the ticket. I think that there's also a $10 fine. So what I plan on doing is having it removed right before I take it in to get checked, getting it signed off, and then immediately making an appointment to have my car re-tinted. The summers here in Fresno are just too damn hot to not have tint.
