Evo stages of modification ?
Hi all,
I'm just about to take the plunge and get an evo 8 or 9 , and am wondering if there are any guides as to the stages of modifications ? in terms of budgets and degrees of extensive modifications ?
I would like to embark on the gradual slope of modifications and not spend unneccessary money anywhere else.
Is there some kind of link or any thing that sets out the gradual stages of modications ?
All thru the forum I see the extensive crazy stages, thats too far away for me , and I'm still trying to keep costs low at the moment and also to keep a low profile and not be that loud and be low key for now.
also, keep in mind that I am from Australia , and due to the difference in petrol quality, I think the ecu flashes and upgrades you have in the US of A will not be applicable for where I come from, unless theres any ecu tuners / flashes for my region ?
your advice and help will be much appreciated.
All the way for girl power !
thanks guys

The buschur and ams stages work great, but if you want to follow the stages and have the least ammount of down time with having to send your ECU off you can buy a Tactrix cable from tactrix.com and then contact John at Jestr tuning and have him send you an email flash. Its really simple and nets around 30 to 40whp on a mildly modded 8. Also it only cost 140 bucks to get both (89 for the cable and 52 for the tune). Not sure how much that would be in aussie dollars. I think when i was over there in 2000 the exchange rate was 2 aussie dollars for every us dollar. Also i saw quite a few Evos when i was there, so i know there have got to be some great tuners over there. I miss Australia...

Not trying to say its revolutionary. I honestly didnt know dynoflash did e-flashes. No reason why Al couldnt do it just didnt know that he did. Just mis-information on my part. And Warr is right. Getting dyno tuned by a shop in Australia would be better than an eflash. Just offering an alternative and cheaper route is all. Cheaper is not always better though.
