I took mine to Big O Tires for an alignment at 16,000 miles. I now have 50,000 miles and the alignment is still perfect. If you don't take it to the dealership make sure you get the specs from the dealer printed out to take to whichever shop you choose.

The dealer is always capable of doing something.

They just rape you in prices.

I've had much better luck with local mom and pop tire and alignment shops than mctire type national chains.

Good Place For Alignment

If I Were You, I Would Take It To Sears. They Do Great Jobs On Evos. Especially For 64.99 Great Price. 12,000 Or 1 Year Warranty Too.

I would not take it to the dealer for anything alignmnet related after my experience...

My local dealer had me waste 4 hrs waiting for my car to get aligned under warranty (only 1500 mi on it). They finally finish and hand me my keys... "Can I please have a copy of the alignment machine report?", I ask them. They give it to me, and I see 2 big problems - 1) the car was ridiculously out of spec from the factory, and they obviously never aligned it in PDI, even though I specifically told them to. And 2) even after they aligned it, the settings still were out of spec. After all that waiting, they could not even manage to get the alignment to within factory tolerances.

Take it to a real alignment place that knows what they are doing.

My situation was kinda similar to yours... but slighty different. I took my car to the dealership one afternoon and they told me the alignment machine was not available and that I could bring it back tomorrow morning so they could take it to SEARS and have they do it. A ****ing Mitsubishi dealership known for 25 years in the business and not have the alignment equipment? what a disgrace

And of course, next day I took it to Firestone.

I took my Evo to a small shop with a brand new, computerized alignment rack. The let me sit in the car during the augment, which made for more precise settings, and the car feel great.
