Are u geting shocked when leaving your car?

I was geting static shock leaving my car 90% of the time. Today i was shoping at Wallmart, was looking around and found this little bottle. Sells for $1.79.
i spray a little bit on the flooor mat and some on my seat.
All day long i havnt got shock once

Yea i noticed that. I get shocked getting out of the car every time also.

Hello, casual reader from the snowbelt region. The air is really dry in the winter, so static electricity is very common everywhere.

Anyway, to avoid static when exiting your car, all you need to do is touch metal before you put your foot on the ground. Just touch the door frame or the outside of the A-pillar. I read something about you need to ground yourself before you touch the ground.

That Static Guards stuff stinks, but the only downside about the method above - you look like a fat senior citizen trying to get out of your Caddie

That problem is not with just the evo. I get shocked every time i get out of my es too. it sucks =\

there is a big thread devoted to this topic under the title "Shocking!"

The short version is... either grab the metal of the car when you get out, or don't drag your butt at all getting out and then you won't get a shock. It has to do with the polyester and stuff used in the interiors of both the evos and the lancers.

But the static guard works a bit too ;-).

you can also get a dryer sheet and rub that on the seats, etc.

get downie then you'll smell dryer fresh every time you get out of your car

Yea, I always get shocked....Thought it was my shoes. Because it did not always do it. But will try that grounding thing. Thanks....

lol thats a costly solution but a good one.... Im gonna order one of those static relese thingys and I will let yall know how it turned out... might go on ebay..
