AutoMeter boost gauge cheap vacuum hose
whats up guys,
I am currently installing an autometer pro-comp boost gauge, however the tubing it comes with is a hard plastic vacuum hose that easily bent. Yes I already bent it and put a kink on it, can I buy brass/steel nipples to replace the fittings and vacuum hose to support the "real vacuum hose (flexible rubber)" ??? any helpful information would be appreciated. My car is in pieces right now, so ill start the rest tomorrow.

either order online or find a dealer in your area that carries the pressure tubing kit with pressure fittings. its a lot nicer that the white/clear nylon tubing that comes with the gauge

Cut about a 5 inch piece of that plastic hose that is not kinked, put the fittings for connecting it to the boost gauge on one side, next take some black vacuum hose and run it like you would run it to connect it, zip tie and secure it to the small plastic hose to secure it.
This is what I did and my boost gauge has worked perfectly

Most gauges come with that there nylon tubing your have, personaly i hate it. Also I used to be a fan of autometer, but i found out that they Suck. But thats my opion, anyway its a screwed up design you force the litte coned shaped brass thinonto the tuber but first thenut brss thing goes on then you put the end into the meter and tighten down the nut, Tighten it realy hard, but don't crack the gauge. But the reason autometer sucks is cause eventualy the needles nuetral position will change. Also they aren't too acurate. I used to believe that they were, but then i found out the hard way that my autometer in my MR2 was off by like 5 psi
I was running 10 psi and though i had the boost controler tuned for 15 psi.
