installed boost gauge reading 15/16psi, ideas wanted :)

just installed a boost gauge right now, I do have an APS bov, I dont know if that could be causing the issue, but when I boost, max is 15/16 psi and drops down. I dont have any boost leaks in any of the tubing for the gauge, so if anything the bov.

is 15/16 psi normal for a evo 9? I though it goes up to 19/20 psi.

Did you buy it used or new? How do you know you have no boost leaks? Why do you have an APS BOV on a IX when your stock BOV was awesome, and you don't even have a boost controller? Inquiring minds want to know...

Your peak boost should be ~20psi, but don't test it in anything less than 3rd gear.

Tightening clamps is not a remedy. Although clamps may need to be tightened, you will never know anything just by tightening them - you must do a proper boost leak test to verify.

new boost gauge, its an autometer mechanical

im getting a greddy/trust t.v.v.c manual boost controller installed today. I do have an aps bov, should I tighted the screw where I can adjust it (i still need to put teflon tape on it too)... would tightening the screw give me higher boost or no?

Some IXs just run a little low from the factory, I've noticed. They still make good power, but these are the ones that make HUGE GAINS with stg1 mods. You simply need an MBC to get that boost up where it should be, and a tune with the MBC would make it rock out. If you can do those both with an exhaust, you're golden.

What in the hell is a "greddy/trust tvvc manual boost controller"???? Good lord, what a name. Is it really manual, or is that an EBC? If manual, hopefully it wasn't more than $85, hah!!

No, tightening the screw doesn't change your boost levels - why do you even have that if you don't know how to use it and aren't running more than 25psi? I'm still confused on that one...

You remind me of the old joke,

A man will buy something that costs 1 dollar for 2 dollars if he really needs it.
A woman will buy something that's 2 dollars for 1 dollar whether they need it or not.

Why do you think women's items are on sale more than mens?

Yeah, getting it just because it's a good deal is still no reason to get it, because it doesn't help you. People often justify useless purchases by claiming they got a great deal, but they rarely actually mention the price and don't realize it wasn't that great of a deal. I doubt switching the BOVs will change your boost, but it's worth a try, since it only takes 5 minutes.

WTF, $220 ???? Why??? You can almost get a good EBC for that much. I'm a huge proponent of EvoTuners, but I don't understand buying something for your Evo that is advertised on DSMtuners.
