Ruined Tranny?!?!?!?!?
So it snowed today and I spun a 180 and started sliding backwards in first gear going about 2-5 mph. Then I put in the clutch and once I was done sliding then my car's idle would jump from 200 to 1200 then it died. It wouldn't crank over for about 5 minutes. Finally I got it to start, it smelt like gasoline but now it runs fine and the ses light is on. Anyone Care to give me some information. Thanks

I remember hearing a couple horror stories from my old twin turbo Z days of cars that had spun the motor backwards. Basically, the mechanical oil pump will destroy itself if spun backwards. Then, your engine will quickly kill itself w/out any oil. I have NO IDEA is this is related to your problem, or even possible on a 4G63 motor.. just sharing some thoughts. I'd get the code checked asap though. I doubt it has anything to do with your trannie.
