xlacrosse, if thats true, the driver was cheating, at least by current rules. Until the SCCA issues a Fastrack with rules change, the Evo is specifically excluded from running in any street touring class. So if the driver trophied in the class, somebody needs to talk to your event organizers.

The perps will be dealt with. (And it will involve 20-some scantily clad nubile women).
It was a joke that a few at the petersbug pro decided to throw up on the STS list. Well, word spread WAYYYY too fast. So we have to end it here.
It's not true. (I was one of the people in on it).
It WAS fun while it lasted and it did bring some interesting conversation on the subject tho. Noce to see some people on some of the lists come up with some interesting ideas.

Just to point out the obvious....
IT'S NOT EVEN JUNE YET!!!!
And you're not up on the STX discussion. Howard Duncan discussed with several
drivers in STX at the the most recent events the lifting of the exclusion for the
EVO8. Howard can't do that by fiat. But it looked like a clear testing the waters
moment. So, the ST community at large has been debating the issue of
displacements and exclusions namely related to the STi and Evo8. I, of course,
will from time to time drop in discussion of the SRT-4 a car which needs a raise in
the 2.0L limit to compete. Also I'm a proponent of letting 2.2L turbo cars play
(Shelby Dodges) and I'd love a raise to 2.5L turbos. The ultimate sleeper of all
time is the Dodge Spirit R/T. Not the ultimate autocross car maybe, but a lot of
fun to set up right. Imagine David Avard's Quiet Racer with 250-300hp. :-0

Doug Gill (scca solo technical manager, works hand in hand with the SEB) has confirmed that the Evo in STX is a really really really wild rumor. There's a dozen people even quoting HIM on some of these boards and he hadn't heard of the rumor until we emailed him and he contacted the SEB to confirm or deny.
It was denied. No STX for Evo.

Sheesh, no one reads here?
I was there, when WE (Tom, Karen, Myself and a few others) came up with the idea.... not realizing how fast the internet works. I think we found a new speed record for spreading a rumor, yet also just how fast mis-information can get spread.
Don't beleive everything you read on the net!
