I think it totally depends in the car you get and how you drive & maintain it. I had a '98 GSX Eclipse that I beat the hell out of everyday and it ran like a champ until the day I sold it with 98k miles. The only thing I ever had to fix/replace (other than wear items) was the front driver side axle because of a bad CV joint.

The 4G63 power plants and Mitsu's AWD drivetrain's are rock solid, all you gotta do is take care of them

I just bought an evo with 76k on the clock and it seems to be just fine. a lil quirky on start up, but I think that is due to the AEM

78k on mine. Mobil oil changes at every 3k. Drives superb still. Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance!!!
