As far as I know the top speed on a factory evo is 155. The only reason that it says it's faster is because the factory speedometer is inaccurate at that high of a speed.

where does the NSX redline at??
Depends on the year and motor (3.0 or 3.2) but 8k is stock for the prior. I have been in a NSX (not at the time of clocking) that had ran 177mph bone stock (97' 290hp 3.2L, 6sp) per a timewise clock.

bumping this.. I plan to do this even as well I wish I would have taken a shot in my evo. Traction is def you friend, therefore I wonder just how well the evo can do.. I would imagine under 150 its going to perform great. What event do you plan to run in? you have two miles to hit 150mph... Im debating if I should do that, which doesnt sound that difficult or going for something higher.. a bone stock c5 z hit 177mph and a standard c5 reached 174.. there are no c6 numbers on the flats yet, but ill be at 400rwhp by the time of the event.. im thinking 185 as far as top speed is concerned as the tarmac top speed is 186mph in stock trim...add 50rwhp

I believe the 200 mph has been broken already by Norris.
The record is 201.42mph with an evo 9?

His previous best was 200.3 mph in his Evo 7. I think that was the fastest ever Evo top speed before, so that makes the Noris Evo 9 the new fastest Evo in the world . Well done to all at Norris Designs.

He also managed a 6.19 secs with a load of wheel spin for the first 0.5 secs where he was barely accelerating.

This was a pretty old record and might have been brocken as well.

Fastest scooby though has reached 215mph.

what are you guys talking about... it doesnt matter what norris or anyone else did on a road in england.. the salt flats are not tarmac...they are at a very high altitude in a schorching plane of salt.. the salt also adds additional spray drag over 190mph and has the sound of driving head on into a hailstorm... its the ultimate testing ground, which will not be as fast as tarmac, however the room allows for much higher speeds up to a record 622mph! The whole point to running this place is to have the fastest time on the actually salt flats..unless that is there simply isnt another road that will allow you to reach these speeds.

We do know that, but the OP is asking what is the top speed for the evo. And that is the fastest so far.

in that case, 150 is easy and feels very stable.. I have been there about 20 times or so in an evo.

Ditto. I was coming home from one of my late-night ice hockey games and there was nobody on the straight stretch of Freeway 99 as far as I could see, so I opened it up. Hit 160 (according to the guage) before I started to slow down because I was coming up on traffic really quickly. I still had some rpm left, so I want to try it again late one night. Can't believe how stable the car was. I used to have an older 'Vette and it wasn't too stable at 140+ ('75 Stingray with 3.22 freeway gears)...

Because it is COefficient. Total drag is determined by coefficient times cross-sectional area and the square of the velocity. The Evo has a _much_ larger area than the NSX.

EDIT: I believe the evo is ~0.34, which is actually pretty close to the NSX.
