OEM HID's - How can I get them?

Hi everyone.

I will be purchasing an Evo in the next month or so and HID's are a must for me.

It seems the only way to get this option is to buy an MR or an SSL package (or SE but I want white and SE does not come in that color).

HID's are not listed as a separate option for the regular IX.

Is there a way I can buy something similar ( I want integrated foglights )?

Or would I just have to buy the parts separately from the dealer?

Any insight would be great... prices help too if you know them.

So far it looks like I'll be buying an aftermarket HID kit without the foglights integrated into the headlights - a sacrifice I'm trying to avoid.

TIA

i've installed a few kits in my friends IX GSR and they look incredible---they don't have foglights, but if you want to save some money and not buy the MR or SSL, then try an aftermarket kit. there's no cutting or splicing required, and its only about a 1/2hr. install.

Why fogs? They are useless, I have them, and I also wanted them, but then you realize they are not that big of a deal

The fogs are far from useless. They light the area directly in front and on the sides of the car, and with the HIDs pointed down they do a great job in (errr...) foggy conditions.

Like he said, they will cost you an arm and a leg for the OEM HID's. Your better off buying an aftermarket HID kit for half the price or even cheaper. Go with the 5000K bulbs if you want the stock look. You should also be able to find a fog light kit for a good price. Just look around.

I was in the same boat as you. I had to have a White Evo, but I wanted fog lights and HID's. I ended up buying a WW GSR and I just picked up some SE headlight housings with HID's, ballasts, fogs, etc. I haven't installed them yet, but I will be wiring both the fogs and HID's as functional.

Just buy these for around $600: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=248721
