Clunking sound from FRONT/MID section of the car....what can it be?
every time i make a tight turn at low speeds i hear a clunk coming from front/mid section of the car.
it also clunks going over bumps if the steering wheel is turned.
could it be the swaybar bushings? this started when temperature dropped a couple of months ago. never gets REALLY cold here in cali, but still colder than usual.

Mine only happens when the car is still cold and I am barely taking off in first or reverse. Once the car has been driven for awhile (heats up) I don't hear it anymore. It just started back in December when it got cold here.
I doubt it is the swaybar bushings, I've had them dry out and/or loosen-up before on my other cars, and you usually hear a low pitch squeeking noise when you go over bumps. It sounds like your struts are blown, but it's just the bar rubbing inside of a dry bushing (no clunking).
I think it is the swaybar end links binding-up in the cold.

on my 2 previous cars (both mazdaspeed proteges) the "clunk" was a never ending story.
the rear swaybar bushings cluncked all the time. dealers had 5 TSBs out for them, but none fixed the problem.
it sounds like a low "thud".
bu maybe you are right, kiley, maybe the sound is produced by endlinks.
guess i'll have to wait untill it warms up in a month to see if it goes away.
sux.

What ever it is, it's very common with Evos (from all of the threads I've searched), happens mostly when the temperatures are cold, and doesn't present much of a problem other than noise (that I have seen from the other members).
I'd still like to find my culprit, though.
