of course if those already got the VIII they should just keep it and spend the extra money on mods, trading in the VIII and get the IX will easily cost you 3-4K if not more. (thats a turbo upgrade there and doubt the IX will be able to match that WHP)

YOU DONT NEED TO DO CRAZY THINGS FOR STOCK BOTTOM END ENGINE IF U ARE LOOKING FOR SAFE EVERYDAY DRIVEN EVO.
JUST DO TBE,INTAKE AND FUEL PUMP...AND TUNED.
U GOT PLENTY OF POWER FOR THE EVERYDAY DRIVEN CAR. AND JUST ENJOY DRVING.
IF U GO BEYOND THAT. U START TO LOOSE RELAIBILTY AND EVENTURALLY LEAD TO BLOWN ENGINE.
What about an upgraded high flow intercooler? will that make the car more unreliable?

you forget there are improvements other than just the mivec and performance, i.e. looks and not to mention having a brand new car.

Something ain't right. I have similar mods on my Evo 9 except I have the Injen TBE, drop in K&N filter, Jester flash running 21 lbs of boost and still managed to put down 330 whp. I doubt an extra pound boost and 93 octane will give me 35 more whp.

It all depends on how agressive or conservative the tune is and what dyno was used. He opted for a safer tune for daily driving and reliablity, nothing wrong with that.

Good numbers man, have fun

yes but most of these folks also have conservative tunes and with the typical boltons... are hitting 315ish even if the car is on the weak side... 295???

maybe boost leak?

i see strong evos w/ boltons and a tad more aggressive tune hitting 340's

oh wait isnt yesevo the guy who blew up his motor? if thats the guy then i can understand why he wants such a watered down tune hehe..

now get a EBC (HKS EVC 6 or Apexi AVCR) and get your boost to stay stable at around 22-23 psi and see some real gains that going to jump you well pass 300whp still being in the safe zone!!!!

No Thanks I said, i will spend 700 on revolvers

and yes 9 engine is better cuz of mivec and revised turbo but i will hold off and get the 10

comparing a VIII and IX is retarded. Of course the IX is going to have things that are better then the VIII but it comes at a price. I like to mod my car and would void the warrenty real fast, plus I saved about 10k buying used, but for someone that wants a warrenty and something with no miles and can afford a IX its the obvious choice

this is all i have done for my evo 9 mr....

MY BASE LINE RAN 250WHP (ONLY 20 psi)--I wanted to get safe tune!
AFTER TUNE RAN 295WHP (ONLY 20 psi) AT THE DYNO SHOP ON DYNO DYNAMIC .

there is almost 50WHp difference before and after the tune.
and i could definitly feel the big difference...it pulls like train~ i love the feeling how it pulls. before the tune was like driving civic.

AL is the man~
Dude, I wish I had a IX. 295 with that mod list. AMEN!
