new Evo on the streets of Indy

Hi all, just wanted to jump in and say I traded in my '01 Camaro SS convertible today for a sweet new black '03 Evo. I'm pretty excited about the purchase, and can't wait to see what you guys are doing with mods and such.

How does it perform compared to your SS?

Congrats!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did they give you for your SS?

Thanks.

Thanks for the replies, I'll try to answer all the questions.

The SS felt quicker stock (it was a consistent 13.5 @ 102 car - not bad for the heavy convertible model with automatic), but the handling and enjoyment factor doesn't compare to the Evolution. I got more attention from ordinary people in the SS, but when a person recognizes the Evolution - it's usually someone who KNOWS about these cars and are genuinely excited to see one and talk to you about it. Also, the brakes on the Evo are unbelievable - I figure I can invest in a few mods to get my straight line performance back.

I got $19k for my trade in, 2001 model year with 19,000 miles and all SLP options (cloth interior though).

I test drove a Blue By You Evolution at Family Mitsubishi in Fishers, but I told them if I bought it would have to be black. The fleet manager got ahold of a dealer out of state who had a black one like I wanted, and it was there in a week

It's got the sunroof and wing; I could have done without the sunroof, but oh well
