there is no way possible to make an evo sound like a sti, the evo has a inline 4 cylinder motor, the sti uses a boxer engine. you get a TOTALLY diffrent sound from the 2

first of all is this the stock exhaust?? Cause stock exhaust is jus a quiet tone and it doesnt even compare to after-market exhausts.

After-market exhaust all vary in sounds which depends on the resonator, the actualy inches of the piping 2.25 to 2.75 and etc., mandrel bends, and etc

That "boxer rumble" is also partially made by the unequal length headers they use.

We can deepen the pitch of our cars with a simple cat back. There are many to choose from and many different tastes out there so look for exhaust clips on google or youtube.

EDIT:

Just to prove that equal length header point here's a WRX with equal length headers. Sound familiar?

kinda of impossible due to the fact an STi like RoadSpike said has unequal length headers...slap equal length headers on it and bam no more rumble

unequal length headers dictate that rumbling

If you just want a lower pitch, not necessarily more power or more volume, then a cat-back is all you need. Since you're in So-Cal, where there are more Evos per capita than any where else in the country, I'd suggest going to meet or hanging out a tuning shop for a while and listen to different exhausts until you hear one you like. Recordings you find on the net aren't a substitute for hearing the exhaust live.

I second the idea that you should've bought an sti. Slap a suby emblem on your car while your at it. STIs sound like shiet IMO.

Hell, I'd make fun of you just because you deployed a time machine to score an Evo XI.
