Evo 8.5 rumor

How much u wanna bet that subaru already has something in the works to one up if they boost there power?
Pick a car you like... wait for the 1st yr production model's to come out and let the first batch of suckers enjoy the problems...
i'll wait for the first major revision and pick up a more solid car that did get all the patches that the firstrun to the product launch date didn't get
I plan to mod my car and last thing i want to do is bring the car back to the dealership for anything... I'd rather just pay RRE to do the work even if it is in warrenty. Save the warrenty for real major claims so you only have to put it back to stock then.

I would not doubt this supposed 8.5 version because MMC does not want to be behind in this modern muscle car era.
I think MMC will most likely put the 6-speed the rest of the world is getting into the next US Evo. If so, that will be great and it will be more reason to get an Evo over an Sti. My reason for that is because a lot of people still deciding on which car to buy are torn between the 5 and 6-speed tranny.
What do you guys think about that?

Doubt it. Keep in mind that 300/300 may also transilate into well OVER $30,000 which is one thing Mitsu definately does not want to do. If what I have seen so far in the market place is any example, they would be better off finding a way to cut the price to 24-26K and get rid of anything possible that may save expense for a special, striped down model. ie Recaro Seats, All Wheel Drive, etc... They ultimately need to make this vehicle affordable to the masses and right now, it really is not. This is Mitsubishi's main concern, is America ready to spend over 30K for a 4 door, Rally Bred and extremely aggresively tuned vehicle. Being a Mitsubishi Dealer, if I hear of anything, I will be sure to let you guys know as soon as soon as I can.

FQ320 or 300 is already on sale in the UK as a Ralliart dealer installed option. I think it is just and ECU and Exhaust change. This is going to come our way first. The six speed is offered elsewhere in the world with the advanced transmission, but at a price premium. That is why the EVO is more expensive than the STI everywhere in the world except the US. Mitsu will probably see how the sales of the EVO goes for two years to decide on the six speed. The only time I wish I had a six speed was if I am always on the freeway and need the extra gear to save gas, other than that I would rather keep it in the powerband!
