Bulb or Ballast?

Just curious... my driver side headlight appears to be going out. Im just curious as to how I can tell whether it is a bulb issue, or a ballast issue.

If it is a bulb issue, how much does an OEM bulb cost from Mitsu?

I noticed it last night when I drove into my garage, the left side appeared to be almost like a hallugen bulb (orangish). When I was hanging out with some friends last night... Id turn the lights on and it would start out bright.. then change colors to orange and then die out. Hope its not the ballast because Im sure its more expensive... but thats almost what it seems like to me even though I dont know much about headlights.

Sounds like a bulb to me. But these things you have to purchase together, just like shocks. There might be a color difference, so try to get 2 new ones. They are pretty expansive at the dealership, your best route might be going with aftermarket ones. I love mine, brigther than stockers

do you have HID? It does sound like a bulb problem otherwise, and they are very expensive!

Yes I do have HID... any suggestions on where to get the aftermarket bulbs at? For now I've just settled for turning my fogs on in hopes that I dont get pulled over... lol.
