HO Alternator

I want a HO alternator for my Evo IX. I heard that a HO alternator might fry my ecu. Is that true? I want to know before I purchase it.

You should be able to get your factory alternator rewound for a little higher output, and the factory voltage regulator should be fine so there aren't any spikes to worry about. If you're wanting to go all out for a sound system w/multiple amplifiers, I would suggest purchasing an external power regulator to go with the H.O. Alt. so the voltage can be finely adjusted.

Just do some research with company's who list compatible alternators for the evo. Ohio Generator is a very well known supplier of high output alternators for many different makes. I've used them before when I built some copetition stero vehicles in the past.
