From NSX Back to Evo!
#16
That's a beautiful NSX you have. I've always loved NSX especially the one with widebody kit (veilside kit is amazing). I daily drive my IX with basic bolton and it's fun. Personally I don't think the MR is worth the $; I like it simple n hopefully decently reliable.

Do you have any solid/real/concrete facts to back that up? Nobody knows anything about the actual Evo X. It's all a bunch of speculation, which means absolutely nothing to nobody. Sonic the hedgehog for the lose again!

i think the se ix is the best deal, over ix mr. like most of the guys said ,the 6peed has that extra gear in the way,and from a techs point of view the 6peed tranny requires more to do to remove when the clutch goes out. both evos are great cars.

What you just said proves nothing, guy. Do you really want to start another speculation thread that would lead to no answers?
What we need to do is to wait until it's out. By than we will have performance facts to compare it against the current Evo.
That will be the time that we can say that the Evo X sucks, or it's the best ever.

I've always had motor swap turbo'ed civics, civic si and then a 2g eclipse. The NSX is always a car I wanted! But after getting my evo i've never been as happy. I still love the honda world but having much more fun still in the DSM world. Good luck!

I would go with the MR simply because for just a bit more money you get goodies which I believe to be worth the extra $$$.
I came from an 03 to an 05 SSL. I only bought the 05 SSL because I could not find an 05 MR when I was looking and the SSL was the only package to bring HIDs other than the MR.
That being said, the MR brings HIDs, a lighter roof, nicer suspension, 6spd, MR BBS wheels, interior details (cf grip handle, etc..) and if you buy the MR SE edition, you get the all the MR goodies & the lip you saw that you liked.
The MR SE is argubaly the finest combination of the EVO 4G63 as we know it and probably what will be one the more rare forms of the car we all love. I "heard" the tranny on the MR isnt as strong as the 5spd, but I wouldnt be able to attest to that myself... that would be my only downfall on buying the MR.
As far as the other cars you were looking at, I can tell you about the A3. I have an MK5 GTI (same car, diff badge) with the DSG. The tranny on the car is a lot of fun (more than you would think for a FWD) and the car has plenty of pep for 200HP. I currently have it on a set of bilsteins & H&R sport springs and it rides great.
Coming from your background though, I would go with the EVO.

Here's my 2 cents...
1.) To me, the MR is not worth it. There has been some discussion that the 5 speed in the "GSR" is a stronger tranny than the 6 speed in the MR. I have also heard from my 1/4 mile friends that the MR isn't as fast in the 1/4 mile due to an extra shift.
The MR does have a softer ride due to the Bilsteins, and that sixth gear does help a little bit on the highway. I drive back and forth to work in my GSR and doing 75-80 on the hwy = 3500 rpms+.. the 6th gear in the MR might help this somewhat.
In the end it comes down to what you plan on doing with the car I guess.
2.) As far as I know it's the same silver. They did change the paint names for the IX. For example, my VIII was "Tarmac Black" and the IX I have now is "Labrador Black Pearl". Turns out they're the same color though. I know that they have gotten rid of yellow as a color option, graphite grey (gun metal color) is now offered, and the "blue by you" that was offered on the 03,04s was changed to a darker "electric blue" in 2005.
Hope that helps and hope you decide to come back to the Evo world.

Why get rid of the NSX for an EVO?
Seriously, anyone can have a EVo...An NSX is rare!...Yea it's waaay over priced but still, it looks freaking hawt and with some mods( expensive *** mods) it can be fast.

The beauty and the beast
What do you think?
Edit........I've got a novel idea, why don't boards standardize on how you post pics/quotes/etc. I wanted to show my evo and nsx together and this POS software comes up blank.
Okay, I'm a crotchetu old guy but I can't seem to show full size pics of my hard drive for some f'ing reason.
BTW, I love cars and I have owned a bunch of them, from ferarri's to porsches to vintage muscle to modern muscle. The evo and nsx are the most incredible cars when you think about engineering (nsx), performance (evo....it's a friggin' two litre that smokes vets with very few mods), styling (the nsx) and value (evo).
At 40 something I get a boner in my garage sometimes.......can I say boner on this board?
