From NSX Back to Evo!

I wanted the MR originally, but when the SE came out, it seemed like a no brainer to me. I really wanted HID's and the aluminum roof is pretty nice, but I didn't really care about different suspension that I could do myself for less, and a 6 speed doesn't really get you anything. Everything I saw when researching it said it was weaker than the 5 speed, AND it gets worse gas mileage. Plus, the Diamond Black BBS' look SO much better than the "permanently covered in brake dust" MR wheels. So . . . to me the SE is the pinnacle of the Evo IX's.

Thanks for all the feedback. I was leaning toward the SE. As far as why getting rid of NSX, it is simply for change. I've had it for 3 years and I 've also had 2 ones before it. I will also save some cash.
I am down to A3, EVO, 928. The 928 is the cheapest

I always thought the 928 was a cool car. I think it's looking to look a bit dated though, not quite as timeless a design as the 944 of the same era. Still, it'd be cool to own the only Porsche V8, and you don't see very many of them around. What color are you looking at?

The elise is by no means a daily driver... the car is tiny, uncomfortable, and too beautiful to submit to daily wear and tear.
Although if I had a chance to straight up trade my Evo for an Elise or Exige, I probably would :-)

My thoughts on your situation....I went daily driver shopping a month and a half ago as I was sick of driving my truck and my beasst, a Porsche GT3 was useless in any daily driving capacity where weather or carrying capacity was an issue. I considered all the options from $80K on down including a used V10 M5, RS4, SLK55 AMG, and some others. Money was not really an issue in my decision, I just wanted a great car that was usable that wouldn't leave me bored to tears given what I am used to driving (I have had plenty of fast toys like the GT3 as fun machines). Anyway, I just couldn't find anything better than the Evo. I thought the RS4 was a great car that needed another 100HP to be truelly fun so I bit the bullet on the fit and finish and sexy intereior and bought the Evo....great machine and with 400HP worth of Vishnu, they are a blast!
1. When I went shopping, I drove both the IX MR and the IX back to back, to me it was an easy decision to get the MR based only on driving it under varying conditions. I did not factor in tranny issues, etc, just performance with me behind the wheel. However, there are plenty of people that go the other way.
2. Not sure if the silver has changed but I really like it when it is nicely polished and I amused to looking at German silvers in my garage. I also like the black and the grey, I bought a black one as I wanted an MR SE which limited my on available colors as the last batch delivered to dealers were black and they were the only ones I could find with 5 miles on them, the others all had 20-50 miles and scratches on them from sitting on lots.
One last thing, I personally think the SE appearance package makes a huge difference in the interior if you are used to higher end cars.
Good luck, I don't think you will regret the replacing the NSX. I love the NSX but they are just too well everythinged so they never really got my attention behind the wheel. Kinda like the Honda S2000, it is perfectly balanced and a blast on the track but on the street, it is just too boring for me.

if you plan on just getting bolt ons or keeping it stock/near stock, then get a 9 SE.
if you plan to rebuild everything and make it a monster, get a used 03, save your self 15 grand and just upgrade everything.
