I've had a windshield on one of my Evo's repaired before. I called my insurance company and asked them about windshield claims and told them what I had and how I wanted to fix it before it started to crack and spread. They gave me the number of a guy to call in my area. I called him up and he met up with me and did his thing. It was rather unnerving watching him work on it, being that he used a Dremmel to drill through the windshield before he filled the hole up. He filled the hole with epoxy glass and a few minutes later it was hardened enough to scrape off the excess with a razor blade. 2 days later I couldn't even tell it was there unless I got really close to it and saw the MINOR imperfections where the light was bent as it passed through it.

The hole drilling is important to make sure that no air bubbles are trapped when you apply the epoxy. You basically push epoxy through on one side and it comes out the other, so that all of the gap is filled with epoxy instead of any chance air pockets.

Call your Insurance company - most times you will have Windshield protection and they will replace it or fix it at no cost and your premiums will not go up... Plus you can get a free box of steaks at a lot of places!

That's awesome, I love steak. But anyway, I should try out that fix windshield stuff, I've had a small chip in my windshield directly in front of the steering wheel for over 5 months now. Better do something before the heat gets to it and makes it spider out.

Aghhhh bad news, before i can get the fix a windshield, the chip started getting bigger... starting to spider and crack out. I hope it wont get too big until the weekend. I won't be able to fix it till then.

I wish I had seen this a couple months back when I had to replace my windshield because of a stupid dump truck slinging a rock from the opposite lane.

They come to you and fix it. For around $60. Most insurance companies will pay the fee. Great job great service.
