Flooded Interior...Again

Gotta vent... My car was flooded in the interior..again. My MR is only 5 months old with only 5000 miles and after a rain storm, there was a lake on the passenger rear floor board and passenger front was a little moist as well. The funny thing, it doesnt happen all the time. I bought to a different dealership and they can figure it out either. Supposedly they put it under a sprinkler for two days and no luck. I told them every possiblities I learned from the forum with no success. What should I do now? I don't want my car to be a future rust bucket. The runs great except for this fxxking leaking problem...Should I let it happen two more times so I can invoke the lemon law? Has anyone try to invoke the lemon law? Should I get rid of the car? I'm just getting aggrevated by the day and truly don't want to deal with it anymore. I mean come on....a 35K car and it's already leaking????

Pull the passenger side fender liner off. Look at the rubber grommet by the side of the firewall; should have a bunch of wires along with a vacuum tube coming out of it. Take some silicone sealant, and ensure that the grommet is water tight. After it's dry, you can take a hose and see if it still leaks. If ok, reinstall plastic fender liner.

BTW, you're in NY.. which dealer did you go to? Did you tell them to check the grommet? My MR had a slight leak in the passenger footwell also. I told the dealer, and they knew right away that it was the grommet. Said it was a common occurance with vehicles that have had the gauge pack installed at port. The people installing the gauges don't do a good job resealing the grommet.

Im actually in NJ. Back in Nov, I went to Burlington Mitsu and this time, I went to Prestige <-- comes highly recommended on the board. I told them everything i learned from the board...the grommet, the hacked install job on the gauges at the port of entry and the ac condensation tube thingy. They said they check everything and cannot trace it. However, supposedly, Cherry Hill Mitsubishi has a water specialist there..so I might have to bring my car there.

the dealership put it under a sprinkler? did they even bother to check inside your fenders, or remove the interior plastic?

UNEXCEPTABLE----Dealer----dude WHY are you letting this dealer out of this fix...Step Up Dude...drive it down to dealer hand them the keys and say fix it, if it's fixed take it to the nearest car wash and test it out if still not right then....Step UP...dont let this dealer take advantage of you, they are getting paid for warranty work...it's not like they are doing it for free and eating the costs...take it to another dealer...get it fixed before it becomes a RUST issue....
