Question Are there Custom Camera mounts w/o harness bar???

Just like it says, i have been searching for a CUSTOM way to get a camera mount for the 1/4 mile but cant seem to find anything. With my audi the head rests allowed for an arm to hang off them and hold a camera, but it seems i wouldn't be able to do so with the stock recaros. As cheaply as it sounds i was considering doing something with maybe PVC piping or something, but as it sits i am out of ideas... (maybe even support it in the rear window) This is just for the track, but i don't want a harness bar. (also i don't wanna get laughed at by the staging guys at the track so please don't suggest hanging from my rear view mirror with string )

Any suggestions, pictures, comments would be appreciated.. thanks

I've been looking for a mount that can hold a Sony HVR-Z1U. It's a heavy, midsize HD camcorder, but haven't had much luck either. Any suggestions?

I made a camera mount for HPDE events. Take the Child Seat Piece out of the rear deck and you can bolt a bar in place.
I went to Lowe's picked up a square tube bar, Put a long bolt through it to attach to the car seat hole. I also put a couple of rubber ends on the tube.
Well here are the pics....
Bought everything i needed at Lowes... except for the quick release camera mount. Bought that from B&H video.

Damn, that camera's huge. You're better off using this: http://www.hoyttech.com/index.cfm?fu...Product_ID=291

I used a sticky pod for my 1/4 vids and stuck it to my sunroof. Worked great for inside the car and was pretty steady as I went 126 mph. All I did was suction it to the glass, used a couple of extension that came with it and turned the camera right side up using the supplied knuckles. I didn't mount it outside the car though.

http://www.stickypod.com/ It comes with a very informative dvd on how to use it.

That actually looks very promising and it would plug directly into my Z1U; question now though is.. how do I keep the Z1U from sliding around?

Seatbelt it or put it in a backpack.
