Michigan/Ohio/Indiana Evolutions!!!

So it seems like there are ONLY Silver Evos in Michigan... I personally have seen a bunch in the Woodward area... with the exception of a Blue with Cali plates, and my own Black in the driveway...

ANYHOW, I am trying to organize a Dyno Day at Payn Tech (in Troy, near the motor mall) and I'm sure if we got some people we can get a discount on the runs and have a chance to meet the locals... Also Tom Payn is a AMAZING tuner of turbo imports and I would trust him tuning my Evo hands down...I also heard they had plans for their own Downpipes and other misc parts for us...

If anyone is interested I am thinking begining of July. I figure it gives everyone a little time to coordinate their schedules and make proper arrangements...

I'll even put up a FREE T-Shirt for the horsepower king!

Over and out...

Hmmm... 300 miles away from me, but tempting. I wish I could find a decent dyno/tuner shop in this area.

In Indy here, but I don't have enough mods to warrant a good dyno tune yet. That, and those MI roads are god-awful bad.

Awwww come on guys!

If there are a bunch of people that end up commiting to this event you guys BETTER make the trip! Yeah, yeah the roads suck, but really, it should be well worth it. Payn has the AWD Mustang Dyno, and we can just get some stock runs in, then find out what kind of power your mods will really make!

Anyhow, keep this thread alive, when this happens it should be a blast!

Hey, I'm in Michigan! I've heard good things about Tom, as well, but I don't think I'm going to be in town in July... Let me know if anyone wants to get together before the end of this month, though!

dyno

Hey, I'm in Coldwater, about 2 hours away. I would be game. Not sure when I would be able but If a date gets set I'll do what I can to get there. I'm anxious to get the SAFC sitting here on and this would be good to tune it. So it would be great for me. Let me know.

Ok Fellas! I called Payn Tech today, and had the opportunity to talk to Tom Payn, and some other wierdo there named Matt...

Anyhow, it looks like we have a couple options, and depending on how many people turnout will depend on how we organize "The Day"...

Prices are as follows:

AWD Chassis Dyno Price Guide (as taken from www.payntechnologies.com)

O2 fee $35.00
Set-Up fee $25.00
2WD No Tuning $120.00/hr
4WD No Tuning $150.00/hr
2WD Tuning $165.00/hr
4WD Tuning $195.00/hr
3-Run 2WD $100.00
3-Run 4WD $130.00

Obviously we don't need to worry about any of the 2WD prices (unless you guys have friends that wanna come too) so we'd normally be looking at $130 for 3 runs each... HOWEVER, for this Dyno Day, we can get in at $500 for 5 car@3 runs each (including cooldown), OR $1000 for the entire day.

They are also willing to host this on a SUNDAY which is really cool of them since they are normally closed, and we would really have the place to ourselves.

I know I'm in for sure, so that brings us to a grand total of

{{{drumroll please}}}

What kind of numbers (HP & torque) is Payn Tech getting on their tuned (stock) Evo's over factory stock? I can see going if I get my mods in-time, but I don't want to plop down $35 + $25 + $195.00 / hr for 3 peak HP on my stock Evo. If we are taking 10 to 15+ at the wheels and modifying the factory computer settings to hold boost at 19 all the way to redline and leaning out the A/F, then we're talking business. Just my $.02

Well, hold up man! We're not getting together for a big TUNING day, I was thinking base line Dyno Day...

Also, it's not going to be $195 per person because we're not doing any tuning, if you want tuning you can arragen and appointment with Tom (248-649-3966)

Think about it like this: NORMALLY, it's $130 + $25 + $35 = $190 each... With this Dyno Day, it's going to be $100 per person for 5, and if we get enought guys (more than 10) then the price will start going down. ****... saving $100? That's my RMR boost guage holder right there! =)

Besides, meeting up and haveing that many EVOs together in one place should be a blast... afterwards we can go on a cruise of Woodward and pick on some American muscle! =)
