Bend it back, or have a shop repair it. You'll wait forever trying to put a claim through UPS.

Who makes that pipe? It is kinda strange that they used a weld bead instead of forming a bead. The ridge should be consistent all the way around to seal properly.

**(nevermind, I saw that it is a Shearer kit)

I'm not defending this kit but will add my .02. The seal is acheived on the flat surface of the pipe, the ridge is there to help retain the house after the clamp is installed so that the house with the clamp on it will not simply be forced off a smooth pipe. As to the ridge being fabricated out of weld bead, if it is done properly (smooth so it can't cut or wear the house) or better yet, is a machined ridge, it is supperior to a flare that will effect the inside of the pipe. The smoother the inside of the plumbing, the better.

As to fixing the damage, an exhaust shop could probably do it carefully with a swedge which is used to make an exhaust slip coupling.

Dealing with shipping insurance is a nightmare. Even if it goes through expect to wait awhile. It looks pretty salvageable so I would go that route first.

Try a pipe inside with a rubber mallet, FEDEX or bust.... everything I get from my mail man is bent.

Or even better, just have a shop make one and bead it.

UPS are punks... i once got a package i ordered with zero contents in it, just the damn padded envelope in side a plastic bag with a sticker saying "We Apologize" and to contact the post office.

nothing happened, lucky the dude i purchased from sent me another product after i sent him some pics of the empty envelope.
