Mitsu was going to warranty my rusted trunk...
#21
Well, I went there this morning and unfortunately the Service Manager "Jeff" was not in. I have nothing left to say to him that this thread won't explain. I'm just gonna forward him this thread and let him figure it out on his own.
And Jeff, to make a few things clear:
My car has never been repainted.
Apex Silver and Cool Silver Metallic are the same damn color.
The Evo's trunk IS NOT aluminum. If you don't believe me, grab a magent and apply one to one of the many Evos trunks that you have outside. Be careful not to use too strong a magnet, it may pull off Mitsubishi's crap paint with it.
Before you deny any more claims, you should learn a little bit more about the vehicles at hand before you make yourself and the dealership look stupid. Which you single handily managed to do on your own. Congrats.
When you call someone and tell them that you are going to honor their claim, then send them an email denying it, (w/out merit either, or any type of facts) it destroys your future credibility w/ me and all the others reading this.
Try to learn a little bit about professionalism. When I came in and explained to you that I was there for a paint claim, you instead got all excited to see that my car was modded so that you can drop the big" We have now voided your power train, and drive train warranty."
You never even bothered to look at my trunk like I initially came in for. You are the epitome of why people are so irate and tired of dealing with Mitsubishi"s warranty department.
And lastly Jeff, you guys are lucky the Evo is stateside, otherwise Mitsu wouldn't be crap.
Anybody else have rust spots on their trunk that they would like to post a picture of so Jeff could see?
BTW, this all happened at:LIBERTYVILLE MITSUBISHI IN ILLINOIS
Have a good one Jeff.

Yeah it sucks. I don't know if its worth the battle. I have a dent in back of the trunk and a crease down where the lancer evolution emblem was. I think they might be able to pull the one in the back, but the crease I dont know. I also scratched the top of the trunk when I took the spoiler off.

It looks to me that this rust could be a result of the spoiler pressing onto the paint and possible cracking/breaking a spot of it. There's no reason for THAT specific spot to be getting rust like that.

did you file a complaint with the BBB? do you have a lawyer?
He basically flat out lied to you on two counts in that last email, i can't believe you just dropped the issue. thats why they get away with this stuff - because people just bend over and take it.
you need to forward a copy of that email to corporate. *shrugs*
