It's good that it frees up alot more space w/o the battery in the engine bay but the trunk is pretty much useless when the battery is in the middle and all kinds of wires are sticking out everywhere. Even an enclosed battery relocation kit in the trunk takes up too much room where you really can't use the trunk for luggage for going to HIN or any kind of groceries and what not. If i was building a race car...yeah no problem i would put the trunk in use with fuel cell, relocated battery and what not but i am not building a race car. Its a fun DD and track car. Just my 2 cents...... .

Hopefully we're in the right section for this one! I wanted to showcase our latest product just finalized today that will hopefully be cleaning up engine bays across the EVO community
After personally experiencing some of the other kits out there, I pushed for development of a superior solution. Because sacrificing daily drivability (needs to start every time!) and the ability to run an audio system was not an option, we opted to include real Odyssey batteries. There are definitely less expensive no-name batteries available that would not offer the same durability, but quality speaks for itself. From there we include the EVO specific battery terminals to ensure you don't need to clip, cut, trim or otherwise modify your stock wiring for installation. To mount these securely, and most importantly CLEANLY into an EVO, we built a battery tray that truly offers a show car quality install and appearance.
I've been running a similar one-off prototype that we built several months ago and have nothing but good things to say about the durability and longevity of the Odyssey battery. The pictures of the finished product will speak for the rest.

i have a simliar looking batt (might be same? its been on my car for quite a while). its red as well. ill look at the name later. It has those type of terminals so when i need to d/c the neg side of the batt, i dont need any tools, its just a latch i pull back on and comes right off. Love it.
