officer gave me a break
as i made a right on a big intersection, the car behind me pulls up right behind me and put's their siren on, at that point i knew what was going to happen, so i pulled over and the officer steps out wit his hands on his pistol which made me even more nervous. i rolled my window down and he tells me my passenger headlight is out and i tell him no way so i asked him can i step out and take a look and we both were looking at my headlight which was working fine. he was like i thought it was out when i passed u, then he ask are they stock, i tell him yes and he ask why are there so many lights, so i told him that it was the highbeam and foglights. so he was like ok your lights are really blue are those stock too, and i told him they are oem xenon headlamps and thats just how it looks. so he goes ok just let me run your license and if everything is ok ill let u go, he takes my license and gets in his patrol car for literally about 8 secs he comes back out and tells me my license is good, then he asked is that exhaust stock with a smile on his face so i told him no and he tells me that's illegal but ill cut u a break and told me to have a good night. he sure looked like a ******** but he was actually really nice. my gf told me he think the officer just wanted to check out my car, so i just wanted to share my very first experience of a cop letting me go because usually they never do. has this ever happened to any of ya?
oh yea do any of you guys know usually whats the ETA for a cop to check someone's license?

You sure he wasn't checking out your gf (if she was in the car) jk
Yeah I guess because you were probably nice about it and explained everything to him calmly.

Depends how the system is running, to check if you have a valid DL, well he knew before he pulled you over. To check if you had warrants, probably about 1-2 minutes depending again on the system... on a bad day 3-5 minutes absolutly tops for both.

Trying CUTTING OFF a cop while SPEEDING and he letting you go. Even though it looks like I was being a jerk, it was completely unintentional. The cop wasn't nice but mighty forgiving and understanding. I consider myself the luckiest sonofa***** that day. Frankly I learned a bigger lesson than if he'd just written me a ticket. Play hard but play it safe -- a lesson for all of us with fast sports cars. Thumbs up for the cop in Cartersville, Ga.
