It's sort of the opposite for me. Most of the people that see the Evo assume it's some riced out lancer (like someone said before). So at first glance, the people that don't know or normally care about the racing spirit of our EVOs just see what they assume is a slow car with a huge wing.
I end up having to offer most people rides to prove the car's mettle instead. The jist of it goes like:
me - here's my evo
adult - um, nice...wing? (insert sarcasm)
me - lets go for a ride
