They won't trick you to get you to have to pay out of your pocket! And when you have a problem with the dealer its not a problem with all of mitsu its just the jerk dealer. This car is meant to perform but not to be nuetral dropped and ran sideways.

Did you ever seen ads for the Evo ? 0-60mph in 5 sec !! Why did they even promote it if they don't want people driving it like that ? And never have I done 6k clutch drops, powershift or drift the car.

I'm pretty sure the boycott list was easy to make. $1 above or $100,000 above I think you'd still be on it.

There are a lot of a-holes in dealerships at the sales and management level. It's just the nature of the business, hence the car salesman jokes.
Due to shop economics there are good technicians and bad, that's the way it goes. Hopefully you can manage to find a good one at your dealership and request them when you go in. You can do that you know.
I personally don't like anyone working on my car but me, then again I don't let anyone drive my car either. Therefore I will try to never go back to the dealership. They give themselves a bad reputation because usually it's the service advisor who is the *******, he does have to hear it day in and day out from every *** that walks in the door. How would you be? There are a lot of ******* customers that like to just spout off and then there are people who genuinely care about there car. To the dealer though they get jaded and don't car either way. They are also not paid very well so that doesn't help.
And before any dealership employees jump on what I've said you can Bl*w me, cause I did it for 9 years and I don't want to hear it. I got out becuase I got sick of fixing other peoples comebacks and jackazz service writers. Fortunately I worked at a Saturn dealer most of that time and at least we took care of the customers and for the most part they were happy. We also hired anyone to sell because we did not want the typical car salesmen.

Oh tell that dealer to go screw themselves and if they don't have any proof of you racing that is liable/slander and they have no right unless they want to see thier asses in court. Maybe that will teach them. I am the last person to be letigious but I had people like that.

Okay, off the soap box.

My car is being serviced now at Bellevue Mitsubishi. Great people, great service. Complete opposite of Walker. Now I dont expect Mitsu to cover parts on my car if I pushed it beyond it's performance envelope. However, I paid a huge premium, compared to a regular compact sedan to buy the Evo and I intend (as most Evo drivers do) to explore it's performance. Otherwise, I would have bought a Lancer or a Civic.

I stand corrected. I'm glad that Hobie and Jman are having/ did have positive experiences with their dealerships. I can say with all certanty that my (former) dealership is next to impossible to work with.

What does a Ford have anything to do with it?
I don't argue there are good dealerships. More often then not it's good technicians that make a good dealership. Realisitically it's the technicians decision wether to bring it to the attention of the manager, etc. if it looks like the car was beat on. The dealer get's paid either way. **** I've fixed cars out of warranty and had it covered for the people because it was a clear defect. I don't think I ever turned anyone down for modding a car, just stupidity. Like oh I am supposed to change or check the oil. I generalized that most dealers suck because they do! There are plenty of good dealers out there but they are not always easy to find. What do you do at the dealer?
I know you can't argue how dealers can be both internally and with the customers. If you do then you need to work in more dealers cause there is a lot of BS out there. More so then a lot of businesses. I get sick of hearing everyone complain about dealerships because I know there are good ones out there and most don't know it because they so happen to have gotten a bad one. I still believe the dealer is the best place to get a car repaired.

Some dealerships will be good and some bad, and the tough part is finding out the hard way which is which! My dealership seems pretty decent, and the service manager has a highly modded SS Camaro, so he understands the need for speed.

That said, I would never discuss any kind of mods, or racing (street or track)with anyone from any dealership because no matter how cool they are, you just don't know what will come back to bite you later.

Btw EVO SPECIALIST -Determining heavy wear and tear on a car can be difficult to accurately judge. Your tire and I/C sprayer comments are an example of what makes me nervous about dealerships, and heres why.

1)We already know that a few EVO's that have been taken in early for performance alignments have been found to be way out of alignment whack from the factory with major toe and camber issues. This will chew a set of tires up fairly quickly, particularly if the tires are close to R compound in tread softness as the Advans are.

Not saying the driver isn't driving the car in a sporting manner because thats what the EVO is designed for, but at 3k miles the tires are just now ready for rotating so who knows whats really behind that wear for sure? Maybe worth looking into the alignment as opposed to simply assuming that the customer just beats his car to ****?

2)As far as the I/C sprayer running dry, I just don't get it I guess. The I/C sprayer might be a useful accessory to drop charge air temps a little bit, but running one dry doesn't mean the cars being abused.

The reservoir for the sprayer is pretty small, so I can imagine if someone left it on auto too much, or used it a lot it in manual mode quite a bit it would be empty frequently.I mean its not like you are running your car without oil, or tranny fluid.

I personally have never even used my I/C sprayer once, because I never push my car hard for any lengthy period of time. Does this mean I am causing undue wear on my car? I have been around tuned turbo cars for a long time so no one needs to reply ....I already know the answer.

jman425 were you the one that started having problems after the tranny fluid was replaced?
As I mentioned before, these kinds of issues don't typically just pop-up after maintenance on a related item.

As long as you are being straight about not having the problem until you got the car back(and I assume you are), I would hold my ground firmly as coincindences like that just don't happen too often.

Good luck with your issue!

But I canceled the check after I found out what a POS that alarm was. I ended up paying them $600 for the Lojack and alarm.
Holy **** dude!!!! You didn't get screwed over, you got anally raped!! But it takes two to tango...in actuality you screwed yourself. WTF would you pay $37k for a $30k car?!?!? If you just waited a few months you could have gotten an EVO for MSRP or less.
