Talking Mitsubishi Parts Departments are on Crack

Just called 2 local dealers for front/rear brake pads.

Both wanted over $300 for each set. With shims and clip sets it was close to $800 total.

Who are they kidding? Why would anyone ever buy them?

You can get Hawk HPS $175 for both, front and rear. Look at the Vendor threads.

I would recommend Ferodo ds2500 pads.
I installed them on my evo and love them.

They are very good pads and they're even ok for light track use.

If you want a real shock, go price a Brembo caliper pad for a Porsche application!

The Ferodo 2500 is very good but still not exactly cheap at $210~ per set for the front axle and probably a little cheaper for the back.

One thing to point out is that when it comes to brake pads and tires, you get what you pay for! The Hawk Blues are not bad pads but you can do better if you are pushing the car or have engine mods.

I have read and been told that the stock brembo pads are the best ones to use. I do plan on upgrading my rotors though...possibly some DecelaRotors by Baer.

A little off topic...

I had my two front calipers replaced under warranty. The dealership charged Mitsubishi $2,400 for parts alone!

Yes dealer parts are out of control with costs so I run DBA crossdrilled and slotted rotors with Project Mu B force pads and it was still cheaper
